When I first started writing, I purposefully didn’t read other blogs or websites with inspirational goodies. I wanted my message to be pure – to come solely from me. I didn’t want the words from these sites to seep out and permeate my own. I wanted my words and thoughts to be able to stand alone – strong and proud. I was afraid that I would read something that I was about to say and then feel that I could no longer say it.

The truest wisdom is a resolute determination.
– Napoleon Bonaparte
I’ve decided something. I am no longer going to worry about changing. There’s been this small, petty, fearful voice in my head this past year that’s been needling away at me, belittling my efforts and reminding me over and over that I will never change. It’s a voice fueled by my deepest fears and doubts about myself and my long-held-on-to insecurities More

For the last few weeks, Oprah has invited us to relax and nourish our souls for three hours every Sunday morning. She calls this breathing space Super Soul Sunday, and it airs on OWN. It’s a chance for us to get inspired, feel more alive, and awaken to all of the magic in our amazing universe.
I have loved everything that I have seen so far, and I am thrilled to recommend it today. I know that after watching it, I always feel more grateful, inspired, grounded, and open to the possibility.

Ten years ago today my life completely changed.
I was walking on a completely remote dirt road in the middle of the New Mexican mountains – looked over and saw the most beautiful man I had ever seen. We started talking, and we both felt like we were just continuing a conversation.
It was just after 9/11, and I was looking for more out of life – more spirituality – a deeper meaning to it all. My dreams of saving the world were marred with buildings crashing down and terrorists acts. More

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time to write a post about gratitude!

I was watching Oprah’s amazing Lifeclass the other night, and she was talking about holding onto the past and not being able to forgive and move on. She told a story of being so angry at a woman that somehow had wronged her. She was standing on one side of the street and saw her going into Tiffany’s More

I am spinning. Well, not literally (thankfully), but my insides definitely are. I have so many thoughts swirling around that I have a headache – I imagine that it’s a result of all of these thoughts constantly running into each other.
As you all know, I believe in the law of attraction. I believe that what we think about is what we create. I believe that what we give our energy to becomes our reality. And so I know that I have created this spinning – this headache – these More

How to Paint a Donkey
By Naomi Shihab Nye
She said the head was too large,
the hooves too small.
I could clean my paintbrush
but I couldn’t get rid of that voice.
While they watched,
I crumpled him,
let his blue body stain my hand,
I cried when he hit the can.
She smiled. I could try again.
Maybe this is what I unfold in the dark,
deciding for the rest of my life,
that donkey was just the right size.

Each Friday, I choose one of your questions and do my best to offer guidance and support to help you along your journey.
This week I chose a question that we can all answer – it can apply to each of us. I would love if we could all look within our souls and find the answer. If you feel comfortable doing so, I would love for you to leave your answer below.
I was on the phone with my mom yesterday, and we were talking about how much is happening in my life at the moment and how things are changing More
