you have permission copyOver the last few months, I have felt different – stronger and more grounded. I’ve been taking more time to relax and to not push quite as hard. I’ve been giving myself permission to be human, to slow down, and to take care of myself.

And it feels really good. It feels like something that I don’t want to lose or let go of or forget. It feels almost decadent – like I’m getting away with something. I’ve been taking days off and relaxing and having fun and stopping work early (early for me, that is), and sitting outside and spacing out. I’ve been allowing myself to feel whatever emotions come up. I’ve been allowing myself to sit with them and be okay with them.

I started thinking today that I don’t want this new way of life to be a fleeting thing. I don’t want to go back to the other way – where I push myself and forget myself.

I realized that I always wanted to remember to treat myself with love – to create new habits where this was the norm rather than the exception. And because I’m a visual person, I thought having cute little reminders around my workspace would help me hold this intention.

I wanted to remember how important giving myself permission to be ME was. So I created permission slips. And I printed them out and surrounded myself with them – visual, empowering reminders to let me know what’s possible and what’s doable and what’s important.

Your turn!

I had so much fun filling in these slips for myself, and I thought that you might benefit from them as well. Giving ourselves permission to be wherever we are and feel whatever we’re feeling and do whatever feels right is so important. And sometimes, all it takes is a little slip to help us remember this.

I would love for you to fill out your own permission slips!

What would you like to offer to yourself from this day forward? How would you like to show up for yourself and take care of yourself? What would you like to release and let go of? What are you ready to embrace?

Give it some thought, and when you’re ready come back and print out this sheet. It contains 6 slips, which you can fill out, cut out, and put up where you’ll see them often. You can also carry them with you as a loving reminder of what you are giving yourself permission to do, how you’re giving yourself permission to feel, and the life that you’re giving yourself permission to live.
