This week, I am featuring Tia Johnson from Violet Sanctuary Spa!
Tia and I met in Leonie Dawson’s wonderful Amazing Biz and Life Academy. She has such a sweet spirit and is super plugged into the spiritual world. She has regular conversations with angels and lovingly helps others awaken through her guidance, community, and vast supply of spiritual tools.

Welcome to Soul Speak, Tia! I’m so happy that you’re here!
Both of our spiritual journeys began with our loved ones visiting us in our dreams. I would love for you to share your beautiful awakening here!
My spiritual awakening began after a dream I experienced after my maternal grandparents died. My grandmother passed first in 2007 and then my Pop-Pop roughly a year and a half later. I had a strong bond with them, and their passing caused me to feel as if someone had removed the very essence which gave me life; I felt as if there wasn’t any more air to breathe.
Roughly a few months after my Pop-Pop passed, I had a very mystical dream. My grandmother was in the dream sitting next to me and she said “Spirit has something to show you.” We were in an amphitheater, sitting in the balcony, and a blue stream of sparkles come out and went serpentine into the night sky. I saw three moons – two full and one crescent. Then, I was on stage and people were clapping for me and throwing roses. It was as if I went through a rite of passage, a transformation.
Having the dream of me in the amphitheater sparked something in me, and this was the turning point in which my journey of healing began! As a way to understand the transformations that were taking place in my life and a way to understand their deaths, I began to read books in the metaphysical genre. My journey of healing lasted for two years! It concluded with a profound answer that I received while meditating. I asked Spirit, “What can I do with my life? What should I do with my life? How can I help others to heal who have suffered?” The answer that was given to me was the name of my business, “The Violet Sanctuary Spa.” I heard the words so clearly that, if I opened my eyes, I would have thought someone else was in the room with me and spoke.
I knew then that it was my duty to help those who grieve and are experiencing dis-ease. I know that I am here to be of service. As a result, in 2010, The Violet Sanctuary Spa, LLC – an online holistic spa aimed at coaching and promoting one’s inner and outer spiritual growth was born! Since then, several of my angel stories have been published in Doreen Virtue’s books, I have published a book, and I have helped people around the world via my internet radio show and other social media venues. I have also received certifications in Dream Coaching, Angel Therapy, Crystal Healing and Reiki Healing.
Helping people has become my passion. When I’m not helping people, I’m usually thinking of ideas of how to help people. I believe that if I help someone improve the presence of spirituality in their life that it will create a domino effect resulting in more people being healed and feeling loved. Life can throw curveballs and it’s easy to forget about love and healing. A little bit of love can truly illuminate one’s life when they are in a time of despair. Through the services of The Violet Sanctuary Spa, I plan to inject as much spiritual healing and love as possible in order to get people out of grief and dis-ease and back into a heart-centered place.
I believe that if it were not for the passing of my grandparents that my spirituality would have been put on hold or would have never happened. While I always had a sense that there was something more than what I was seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, and smelling in this world, I never explored those feelings until after their deaths. I just brushed off or devalued what I was feeling. Before I embraced my spirituality, it felt normal to write off having a premonition as ‘just a hunch’ that happened at random moments. It didn’t feel normal to discuss my dreams or visions I had with friends.
How have you changed since opening up to your own spirituality?
I became more confident in myself and in my business. Diving into my spirituality was the best thing that could have happened to me because it explained my life! I learned about who I am: an Earth Angel. I learned that my mission is to heal and to teach. I learned about past lives and angels. I learned about lost lands and spiritual gifts. The learning process was very exciting and very comforting. It validated what I have been feeling all these years: that there was something more to what I would see, hear, taste, smell, and touch. As a result, I gained more confidence in myself because I found the answers to my most personal questions and gained the ability to explain what I learned to people while conducting my business.
I learned to see beyond the veil and my world became magical. While there are still days when I feel deep sadness, such as on my grandparents’ birthdays or when I hear a particular song, I remember what the overall message is regarding their deaths and my transformations: love is eternal. They are lovingly helping me from heaven as I help others, and I’m grateful to have understood this message from Spirit.
I think that this is such a beautiful example of the gifts that are available to us when we are open to them. I’m a huge believer that many of our loved ones who have passed on communicate with us through our dreams, and it’s up to us to stay open and do our best to remember their messages. Since your awakening, you became a Gateway Dreaming™ Coach, certified by Hay House author Denise Linn, which is such a beautiful way to be of service. I would love to hear more about how you help others in this way.
Initially, I aid others through the use of Dream Coaching by helping them to understand that everyone dreams. It does not matter if the thought process is “I didn’t have a dream last night” or “I cannot remember my dream.” In addition, people tend to have concerns and fears about the dream world. Therefore, I help them become comfortable about the topic before we can enter a deep conversation about dreaming. Then I can go deeper and help people understand their dreams, work within their dreams, and connect with divine beings. I use a process in which I ask questions, look for themes, symbols, and messages. I combine my Dream Coaching training and my intuition to provide insight and answers.
You have so many beautiful spiritual tools that you use to connect with your soul and also with the divine: crystals, Reiki, dream analysis, tapping into your intuition, asking the angels for their guidance, etc. Do you have any suggestions for someone who is just beginning to open up spiritually for how they can tap into this magical world as well?
Thank you. Yes, I do! I started with a book and a few crystals! When I was seeking answers for the death of my grandparents, I went to the Hay House website to purchase one of Sylvia Browne’s books. I discovered Sylvia Browne on the Montel Williams Show. I used to watch his show religiously with my grandmother and I figured Sylvia can help me. I actually “discovered” Colette Baron-Reid, who was traveling with Sylvia at the time, and purchased her book, Messages From Spirit. Colette’s book just called out to me and I had to purchase it! After I read Colette’s book, I knew that I had to learn more ASAP!
I began to learn more about the metaphysical world and discovered crystals. I began to work with the apache tear, rose quartz, amethyst, and clear quartz crystals. I want to make a note here that I was in my last semester at college (I spent five years in school because I changed my major) and I didn’t have much money because I was already working on paying off credit card debt I had incurred over the years. I don’t want people to think that they have to buy a bunch of book and crystals or get several certifications immediately. I worked my way up. As a beginner, just focus on what you can do at the moment. You’re bound to grow – don’t rush it.
I strongly suggest reading Colette’s book. It’s easy to read and it’s so profound. You won’t feel like you’re reading a textbook of esoteric information. Instead, reading her book will feel as if you’re talking to an old girlfriend!

To Be Goddess is truly a gem! It was an emotional experience writing the book. It took just over a year to complete, it was edited twice, and the experience of self-publishing and marketing has been quite the experience!
To Be Goddess serves as a platform for a conversation. It’s a conversation between me and the reader. It’s a conversation between the reader and the goddess. To Be Goddess allows the reader to go on a journey of deep self-discovery and spiritual growth. That process is done by working with the 13 goddesses mentioned throughout the book, answering the questions asked in the book, performing the rituals, and applying what the reader learned in his or her life.
By the way, the book can be read by men as well! A male yoga expert actually wrote a blog post about To Be Goddess. It really is my pleasure to publish To Be Goddess for the world to learn and enjoy!

In the words of Saint Joan of Arc, “I’m not afraid. I was born to do this.”
Is there anything else you would like to share?
Yes! I’m a lover of dogs! I plan to open a dog sanctuary where dogs can receive medical aid, shelter, etc. I watch the videos of people who help stray dogs and it just breaks my heart to see a dog in such horrid conditions. I have to open a sanctuary for dogs!
