We’ll let everyone who wrote a story know whether it was chosen sometime this month. Thank you so much for opening up and sharing your hearts so lovingly and authentically. I often think about my life in terms of before I woke up and after I woke up. And I’m not talking about waking up from a nap or a long sleep, although it does sometimes feel like I was sleeping even though I was physically awake. I’m talking about the moment I awakened. The moment I realized that the universe was magical and beautiful and amazing and loving. The moment I reconnected with my soul (that I remembered I had a soul), my entire life changed.

I went from being a complete skeptic to a complete believer in miracles. I went from feeling mistrusting and closed off to opening my heart and letting love flow. I went from a life filled with feeling like I had to do everything on my own to knowing that I was loved and supported at all times.

It’s only been a few years since I woke up, and I can’t believe how much both my internal life and my external life has changed. I’m a completely different person in some ways, but in reality – I just became who I always was. I took away the barriers and allowed my true self to shine.

I know that I’m not the only person who has experienced this, and I would love to share your stories here on Soul Speak!

Your Soul Story:

I am opening up submissions now and plan to include two of your stories each month throughout 2014! The deadline for submissions is Dec. 31st. Those that are chosen will be shared in the order they are received.

So what is a Soul Story, anyway? It’s that moment in your life when you realized there was much more to you than just a human body. It’s that moment where you remembered that you had a soul. It’s that moment where you felt on a deep level your connection to everything in the universe. It’s that moment where you felt completely loved and filled with light. It’s all of these things.

• Some of us have woken up after tragedy struck and we were at our lowest.
• Some of us have woken up during a brush with death.
• Some of us have woken up through a loving meditation or a powerful Reiki session.
• Some of us have woken up when we met someone who opened our heart.
• Some of us have woken up spontaneously.

However you woke up, I’ve found that once it happens, you can no longer fall back asleep. You see the world through a different lens. You are filled with a deep inner knowing that you have a purpose and that your time here on Earth has meaning. And you can’t wait to start spreading your loving message and helping others.

These are the stories that I want to share. For those of us who have experienced their own awakening, let’s inspire each other and show how beautiful reconnecting with our soul can truly be!

I can’t wait to read your stories – I know they are going to be amazingly powerful.

Submission Guidelines:

• Please write between 1000-1500 words in the first person. Please be as authentic as possible and share your true, heartfelt, original story. To be considered, your post may not have appeared anywhere else online.
• Please make sure that your post is well written, spell checked, and something that you feel really proud to share with the world.
• Please make it evergreen – meaning that it can go up at any time. (We’ll be collecting your stories to post throughout the following year.)
• Please email your post, your bio, headshot, and any original artwork/images (optional) to my amazing assistant, Katy: katy@jodichapman.com. She will be reviewing them and passing them on to me.
• Please send your submission in by December 31st, 2013. We’ll choose our top 24 posts to begin going up starting in January of 2014. We’ll include two per month, and the order that they go up will be in the order they were received.

Every submission will be considered. Because space is limited, there is a good chance that we will not be able to accept each story. But please know that we will read them all and take each one into our hearts!
