heart

We’ve all had that moment in our life where we realized that no one was going to save us.

All of our fantasies of being rescued from ourselves, our life, everything, came crashing down. No one was going to swoop in and fix everything that needed fixing. No one was going to wave their magic wand and sprinkle fairy dust over our life and make it all better. No one was coming.

And realizing this sucked. We were probably scared and angry and hurt. We may have even thrown a temper tantrum (or two or three) and flailed about for awhile – yelled and screamed at how much we hated living in an unfair world. We may have cried to the heavens above and asked God/the universe how could this happen? How could everyone abandon us in our absolute time of need?

Yes. We’ve all had this moment.

And that’s a good thing. A very good thing.

Because being on the other side of this moment – this temper tantrum – means that we have become a conscious, self-actualized grownup.

Yep. It’s true.

Because here’s the thing: In that moment when you let go of the fantasy that you were going to somehow be saved, you also (without even knowing it, most likely), grabbed onto the reality that YOU were somehow responsible for your own happiness, for your own life, for your own everything.

YOU.
Just you.

Now, this definitely doesn’t mean that you can’t lean on your loved ones and allow them to help you up when you need some support. No. It doesn’t mean that.

It means that you are aware that no matter how hard your loved ones tried to save you, they simply wouldn’t be able to. We are the only ones who can save ourselves – it’s just the way it is.

And the longer you give away your power and try to allow someone else to save you, the more pain and unhappiness you’ll face.

You get to decide how much suffering you would like to endure. It’s all up to you.

You have the power to create an amazing life. You have the power to design a beautiful existence that you are so excited to be a part of. You have the power to wake up, take charge, and do so much more than simply exist.

It’s all up to you.

Are you ready to step up and fully embrace your life? I sure hope so. It’s such an empowering way to live!

I created a free It’s Up to Me poster for you to remember how powerful you truly are! You can download it below and print it out! It’s saved at high resolution for you. I hope that it inspires you to always remember how you choose to live your life really is completely up to you. You’re that powerful!
