I’m super excited about today’s giveaway! My friend, Karen Hager has one of the most beautiful souls that I’ve ever come across. She is an intuitive, and her readings are always grounded, honest, and heart-centered. She’s a true gift for all of us.

Karen has written a wonderful post about the power of asking. Please read that, and then scroll to the bottom to see the 3 gifts (yes, 3!) that she’s giving away!

Isn’t this fun?

Shared Wisdom
Featuring Karen Hager from Fog City Psychic

Sometimes the easiest way to get answers is to just ask the question.

When my kids were tiny, we spent way more time watching Sesame Street than I should probably admit. My oldest son loved Elmo, and my youngest son was more of a Super Grover fan. It was a lot of fun to share this institution of childhood with my own kids.

But, as always, revisiting something you thought you knew offers new lessons.

One day I was folding laundry with Sesame Street on in the background. Big Bird was talking to his friend Snuffy, who was in a jam and didn’t know what to do next. Big Bird said (and this stopped me in my tracks), “Asking questions is a good way of finding things out.”

That’s so simple, isn’t it? When you don’t know what to do, when you don’t know what comes next, when you’re looking for guidance … just ask a question.

I talk with a lot of people who are looking for guidance in their own lives. They’re in a jam and don’t know what to do next. We tend to forget that we have the power to ask for help, get answers, and then decide whether or not to take action.

I believe everyone has intuitive ability. It’s factory-installed … part of the package when we incarnate here. This natural ability to connect with Source is like a pilot light that burns within us. We can’t blow it out, snuff it out, or crush it … but we can ignore it and forget it’s there. Our intuition is a tool we’re meant to be using to help us connect with the Divine wisdom that lies in each of us. That’s where the answers are!

You can start to reconnect with your inner guidance just by slowing down and being where you are right now. Give yourself permission to be quiet, center yourself and make it a priority to stay as centered as you can throughout the day. You’ll begin to realize there is much more going on around you … and within you … than you imagined.

Get as centered as you can right now, and formulate a question. Start with a simple yes-no question. Don’t spend time thinking about what the question is or the right way to frame it or whether you should be sitting in the lotus position while you ask the question. Just let the question rise up in you. It’s dying to be asked … so just ask.

Imagine your question written on a sheet of paper, and watch as that paper flutters down and lands in a pool of bright Light. That Light is the Light of Source, where your inner guidance connects with the wisdom of the Divine. The answers are in the Light, and you can access it any time.

From that centered, quiet place, listen for the answer. It may come as a word, a phrase, an image, a feeling, a tingle, a tug … don’t discount anything you see, feel, know. Just let it be.

What did you receive? A yes? Or a no? For some people, this first experience of putting a question in the Light is very powerful and they get answers. For others, it can be a total dud.

Whether you received an answer or came up with nothing, please take a moment to acknowledge Source. Express your gratitude for the Light that lives within you.

The way forward with this connection is to practice. Spend some time every day placing simple questions in the Light. I’m not talking about deep, life-altering questions. Get in the habit of asking for guidance all the time, and as you open yourself to the answers, you’ll be surprised at what you receive.

You don’t have to be in some mystical meditative state to do this, either. And the questions can be silly. Are we out of tomato paste? Is the next open parking place to the right or the left? Is that my friend calling on the phone or a telemarketer?

Allow yourself to ask simple questions and weigh the response you get with what actually happens. (Were you out of tomato paste? Where did the parking space turn up?) You’ll start to get an idea of the difference between receiving guidance from Source and your own voice. When you start to ask questions and expect answers, the result is transformation. Lives change, relationships change, situations that seemed hopeless morph into opportunities for joy and expansion.

Asking questions is a good way of finding things out.
