You all know that I can get pretty sappy. I live my life with my heart on my sleeve, and when I fall in love with something, I want to shout it from the rooftops and share it with everyone I know! I have been so excited to share this week’s selection with you for awhile now, but I wanted to do it today because I think it’s so important that we kick off the new year in a positive, reflective way. The 2012 More

How are you holding up? Sometimes, especially during this time of year, we expect ourselves to be superhuman. We want to cook the best meals, be the best hosts, get everything checked off of our list, plan our next year, wrap all of our gifts, and do it all absolutely perfectly. We want everything to go just as we planned. We push ourselves to the limit to make sure this happens, and we crumble when things go wrong. Are you feeling some of this pressure right now?
I definitely am. For those of More

Shared Wisdom Guest Post from Mike Robbins
I’m sometimes amazed and embarrassed by how critical I can be – both of other people and of myself. Even though I both teach and practice the power of appreciation (as well as acceptance, compassion, and more) when I find myself feeling scared, threatened, or insecure (which happens more often than I’d like it to), I notice that I can be quite judgmental. Sadly, as I’ve learned throughout my life, being critical More

There are some posts that I write that make me feel a bit queasy when I publish them. I am already feeling that about this one, and I haven’t even written it yet.
I feel an unsettling inside of me. Like the real me is trying so desperately to emerge from this cocoon held together by the me that I thought I was – the me that I tried to be – the me that no longer feels like me.
Do you feel this way, too?
As hard as this authentic me has been pushing through the barriers – wading More

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time to write a post about gratitude!
You can read my previous posts by clicking here.
A few months ago, Donna Kozik (the editor of The Gratitude Book Project) asked me to answer the following question in 200 words: What are you grateful for? My response would be put into an uplifting book, Celebrating More

A Shared Wisdom Guest Post Featuring Amber Kelly-Anderson
While sitting in a restaurant a few weeks ago with my mother and one year old son, we were approached by an elderly man. Having someone come over to talk to Alex is nothing new: he’s a sweet guy with a charming smile that he spreads around indiscriminately. Someone once referred to him as a ball of joy. However, this man’s reaction was novel.
“You have such a sweet smile; you need this.” He handed Alex a little carved More

I’m super excited about today’s interview! I am turning Soul Speak over to my amazing husband, Dan. He sat down with Scott Blum and had a soulful chat – they talked about Scott’s newest book, Winter Moon Rises, spirituality, being a dad, and so much more! So without further ado… enjoy!
About seven years ago, while Jodi and I were living in the red-rock mountains of Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico, she subscribed to a website called DailyOM More

I’ve missed you. I’ve missed this – checking in. Being still. Being real. Being me. Being here.
I had such big plans to sit down and write a “good” post – something with “wow” and “pizazz.” Something that was sure to inspire and have us all look at our lives in a new way.
And then I sat down. And I remembered: I am not here to “wow” you or write with “pizazz.”
I am here to write from my heart – from my soul. More

Shared Wisdom Guest Post
Featuring Laura Koniver, MD from Intuition Physician
My kids recently asked me what was the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to me.
Well, lots of them I had to censor for my kids… and don’t particularly want to share on the internet, either.
But once I started really digging into the G-rated stuff that I could share, I started laughing so hard with them, and it felt soooo good. Hearing them laugh along too just had me breathless with joy.
I told them about the More
