This week, I am featuring the team behind Whole Soul Lab: Dave Rowley, Morgan Rowe, and Verhanika Willhelm!

Dave and I met several months ago when he joined both my Authentic Connecting Facebook group and also my Soul Shakers’ mastermind community. I loved his sweet energy right from the start, and it’s been a pleasure getting to know him better over the last few months. He is a soul-centered Presence Coach (love that!), and he has partnered with two other beautiful coaches to create Whole Soul Lab – a wonderful space that nurtures whole living. They created a very special ebook just for the Soul Speak community, which they are giving you for free (yay!). But before we get to that, let me first introduce you to them and let them share more about what they’re up to!

Welcome, Dave, Morgan, and Verhanika!

I’m so happy to welcome all three of you to Soul Speak! I love what you have created, and I’m excited to share some of that goodness here today. I would love to start by having you share how Whole Soul Lab came to be. How did the three of you meet? What inspired you to come together to help others in this unique way?

Morgan:  I’ve known Dave for about 12 years.  We met in Australia at a movement festival.  I instantly fell in love with his generous spirit, curiosity, and thirst for deepening his connection to the human experience.  Shortly after, I introduced Dave to my best friend, Tina, while we were all in Hawaii as guests of another great friend.  Tina and Dave fell in love and so Dave moved to Seattle.  Yay.

Verhanika and I met about five years ago when I was an actress in A Christmas Carol and she worked backstage.  We became fast friends.  Her spirit, grit, fierce intelligence, and desire to stretch her understanding of how to be fully present and engaged with the world really impressed and inspired me. We found ourselves becoming coaches at the same time: she in the organizational and leadership realm and me in the life-coaching realm.

We discovered that we both wanted to expand into workshops and thought it might be fun to do that together.  We wanted to round it out with a third modality, and Dave and his presence/mindfulness background immediately sprung to mind.  I imagined that could be some pretty amazing alchemy.  And it was!  We quickly realized that we didn’t want to stop at workshops; we wanted to create a practice where we could work together supporting clients who wanted to live whole, well-rounded thriving lives by offering them whole, well rounded, coaching support.

It definitely sounds like your coming together in this way was meant to be! 🙂

I would love for you to share how you came up with the name, Whole Soul Lab, and what that means to you and also to those you help.

Morgan:  When we were working on the marketing, I started to picture a scrabble board with the word “hole” on it and a “W” poised nearby.  The feeling being that by working with us we help our clients feel “Whole” instead of full of “Holes.”

Verhanika:  The Lab part emerged out of my work in graduate school, which was called a “Learning Lab.” We really liked the concept of life being a Learning Lab instead of thinking that you have to have it all figured out all the time.

Dave: I think it describes the way we work together so beautifully, the holistic approach, the importance of including the soul, and the emphasis on learning and action in “lab.”

I absolutely love that you are all coaches, but each of you has a unique specialty. Could you share some ways that you complement each other?

Verhanika: Dave excels at joining with his clients and gives them lots of space to settle and find deeper ways to be in tune with their body. Morgan looks at how you can be as congruent as possible in what you want on the inside and how you display it on the outside. And I really like action planning and figuring out how to make change happen efficiently.

Morgan: We feel that if we are all fully ourselves, working to our greatest capacity in our own individual ways, that we can make the space and create the environment for our clients to do the same.

Dave:  And we are influencing and learning so much from each other as our relationship develops. The strengths I see in Verhanika and Morgan are coming to life in me, and I see the same process happening with them. There is a real synergy in the way we work together that is such an exciting gift to offer to our clients.

I would love for each of you to share one sentence that best describes what living a whole-soul life means to you.

Morgan:  Living a whole-soul life means being in deep alignment with my core values and using my natural talents in such a way that everything I do – EVERYTHING – feels completely fulfilling and happy making.

Verhanika: A whole-soul life is one where you are aware of your intentions with every action you take and that you work in alignment with your core values as often as possible.

Dave: Living a whole-soul life means cultivating a wholehearted awareness that helps us to see and feel clearly what our deeper purpose in life is, and that can guide us as we move towards it.

And now I would love for each of you to share one tip that you would like to offer someone who is feeling stuck in his or her life and is ready to make a change.

Morgan:  Remember, you are the hero of your journey.  The first step to getting unstuck is giving yourself permission to step into the unknown in order to discover and to arrive exactly where you dream of going.

Verhanika: Call Whole Soul Lab. 😉 Actually, I think the best way to get unstuck is to examine your goals, the different roles you play and how they are working for or against you, and the processes you use in each of those roles to achieve your goals.

Dave: Take the time to slow down and regroup. Connect to your body, breathe, ground yourself, and listen. The wisdom required for the next step lies somewhere inside of you.
ebook

paperbackbookstanding (4) You’ve created a special free gift just for the Soul Speak community! Yay! Please tell us more about it!

Morgan:  We’ve written a free eBook just for the Soul Speak community. It’s called 9 Rituals for Whole Soul Living.  Each of us has contributed 3 rituals that we incorporate into our lives on a regular basis. In addition, Dave has written a chapter on creating your own rituals that speak to the deepest, most essential values that you might want to nurture more specifically.

Verhanika: I love this gift. It is truly one of the most beautiful and useful books I have collaborated on. Dave made beautiful illustrations to the point that I flip through the book just to look at them.

Dave: Rituals are such a beautiful way to pay attention to our lives. What I love about our ebook is that the rituals are all so simple and can be easily slipped into your daily routine.  Plus, I’m excited to hear from people who take on the task of writing their own rituals, too.

coaching offer

dave coaching ad with backgroundI love the Synergy Package that you offer, and I’m so grateful that you’re offering 20% off of it for everyone in the Soul Speak community! Can you share a bit more about what this includes and what makes it unique?

Verhanika: The Synergy Package is our shining jewel of coaching. It’s a way to take a major goal and get support from three different angles. Dave can help you find the mindfulness and centeredness to be authentic in your goal, Morgan can help cultivate the tools for actually carrying out the goal and examining why you may or may not be using them, and I can help you find financial ways to achieve it or how to pursue it and have balance with your demands at work at the same time.

Morgan:  For instance, let’s say that a client comes to Whole Soul Lab because they want to take a 6-month sabbatical from their day job to write a novel.  They might work with me on setting up the schedule for writing and working on any blocks that surface around having/receiving permission to take this leap outside of their “normal” life to become a writer.  Then they would work with Verhanika to address the financial ramifications of taking 6 months off and thriving in their family systems during a period of great change. At the same time, the client would work with Dave on getting into the writing space and opening the channels for creativity in such a way that it can be accessed on a daily basis.

This sounds amazing – I love the whole-centered approach!

You can  save 20% when you sign up by entering “soulspeak” at checkout! (Yay!) This special offer expires on May 1st, so be sure to sign up before then. Click here for details!

What do your souls want you to know?

Dave: My soul wants me to know that I belong; I am supported; I am connected; and I am loved.

Morgan:  I love this question.  Can I borrow it?  My soul wants me to know that I really can choose happiness. For me that means daring to live fully and completely by balancing the joy of serving others and making space for others to shine brightly while making time to indulge my own curiosity and enjoying the world fully for my own delight and nourishment.

Verhanika: When I read that, I actually thought of “souls” being those out there reading and learning about Whole Soul Lab. I want them to know that they are held in whatever they want and that they have everything they need to live whole, authentic lives. My soul already knows this, but I have to remind it from time to time.

What do you have coming up on the horizon?

Morgan:  Well, I’m working on an ecourse centered on the Hero’s Journey that focuses on bringing people back to the idea that it’s okay to be the center of their own lives, even in the midst of caring and nurturing others.  It encourages people to honor the cyclical nature of their journey and to find adventure in the ebbs and flows of daily living.  We go through thousands of deaths and rebirths in our one life and in each abyss is the promise of new joy and growth.

Verhanika: I’m finishing up my Master’s degree this year and with that comes a whole new suite of tools available to clients.  I’m also working on an ebook about developing a deep, loving relationship with your money. And soon we’ll be offering packages for organizations to help them function wholly. I really cannot wait for that since that is my favorite place to do our work.

Dave: I am writing an ebook on Noticing, a mindfulness writing practice I have been working with for a few years now. And spring is starting to poke its nose around here, so lots of outdoors time after a long, dark, Seattle winter is sounding very good to me.

These all sound like such wonderful projects!
