May 24

Thank you for joining us for A Month of Meditation!

Welcome to Day 24!

(If you haven’t read what it’s all about, please click here first.)

I’m so proud of all of us for showing up for ourselves. For knowing that our soul craves this moment of stillness in our day, and for taking action to make that happen. So let’s all pat ourselves on the back for that!

Each day, we’ll click on that Day’s page, and we’ll leave a comment stating that we meditated on that day. That’s all!

If you would like to write more, that’s definitely welcome. It would be really great if we could share about our experiences, too: how we meditated, how long we meditated for, and what the experience was like for us.

Many of us will be using the Re-Awakening Guided Meditation Program, so we can share our experience with that as well.

I’m so excited to get started!

Being a part of a supportive community is half of the fun, so please be sure to check in daily.

Now…let’s go meditate!

P.S. – Please remember to post the artwork on your blogs and share it on FB and Twitter! You can find sample tweets here.

  1. It is a great challenge to be still for 15 or 30 minutes, we have to cultivate this habit by enduring the pull of the mind to stand up and do something else when we meditate. Perhaps that´s why doing it very early in the morning and late at night is recommended. But if you can endure the need to occupy something else, hopefully we will gradually will evolve. Putting attention on breathing takes away attention to thinking. A great indicator that meditation is going right is when when you don´t get scared with sudden noises like telephone ringing or something falling. If you do get scared followed by anger, you will know that you need to be more relaxed and more alert during meditation.

  2. Yesterday I missed again, woke up late, and returned to sleep after feeding the dogs. I’m still trying to catch up with lost sleep with my final projects/papers. I cannot wait for this week to be finished and I can relax a little more before the next class starts. Today I meditated before feeding the dogs or anything and it has helped me to feel that great sense of calm I have felt with beginning of this meditation challenge. I am back to task and a big sigh of relief.

  3. Settling down for bed…going to listen to some calming music and concentrate on my breathing before falling asleep. Good night!

  4. Just took 5 minutes to meditate. I definitely was resisting it – kept thinking about all that I needed to do, and my thoughts were racing faster than normal. But when the timer went off, and I opened my eyes, I do feel more at peace. So I’m extra glad I took the time. :)

  5. Just finished a short, late-night meditation. Second day in a row that an unusual morning schedule pushed back the meditation to night, which somehow makes me feel a little off all day. Will be glad to get back to the morning routine (tomorrow), but still feel good about sticking to it every day–one way/time or another.
