Do you believe that you have the power to change your life? to increase your joy? to experience abundance in all areas?
I definitely do. 100%
But what I’ve found is that, just like all of us, I can easily forget this and switch from being a conscious creator to living on autopilot.
And this moving through life half-asleep can sort of creep up on us, too. It seems to happen gradually over time – we start to feel sleepier until we eventually are sleepwalking through our life.
For me, it’s a journey of continually coming back to my soul. Continually grounding myself and remembering how powerful I truly am. Remembering that my life is a direct result of my thoughts, actions, and beliefs. Knowing that if I look around and am not entirely happy about what I see or how I feel, I can do something about it. I can make changes instantly and shift my energy and my mindset and what I’m attracting into my life.
And so can you.
For the last seven months, I’ve met with a group of beautiful souls each week on Skype. We’re choosing to walk through life as awake as we can. We’re choosing to stay on the path of consciousness. Last week, we were talking about setting a clear intention for our day and then staying conscious of that intention throughout the day. Someone in the group said that, while it wasn’t completely believable for her to say that she was going to have an amazing day, she could set the intention of asking, “What if I had an amazing day? What if things went smoothly? What if I went about the day filled with joy?”
I just loved that. And I had the perfect opportunity to test it out last Wednesday. I woke up feeling overwhelmed and stressed when I thought about all of the appointments and to-dos that were on the schedule. I just wasn’t sure how everything was going to get done, and I was starting to worry that I just wasn’t going to be able to get through it all. I immediately wanted to just go back to bed and pull the covers back up.
But instead, I asked myself this:
“What if today flows easily, and I am filled with joy and energy?”
And I repeated that to myself several times and really felt what that would feel like.
Easy. Joyful. Effortless. Energized. Ahhhhhh…
And guess what? That’s exactly what happened!
Yes, I still had a full schedule.
So the externals didn’t change. But my internal view on the day certainly had. And that’s really all we have complete control over, right?
While normally I would have been completely exhausted, I felt an inner energy/life-force pulling me through it all. I allowed myself to be completely present with each appointment, and it felt so great to show up in this way.
It truly amazes me how powerful each of us truly is. And sometimes all it takes to tap into this power is to set a clear intention and to really feel that intention running throughout our body. (And it also doesn’t hurt to say a prayer to whomever you feel comfortable praying to – God, the angels, the universe, your spirit guides, your higher self, or all of the above. When I ask my team to step in and help, they are always happy to jump in.)
So… now I’ll turn it over to you:
What “What if…” question can you start tomorrow with? How would you like your day to go? What would you like to see happen? How would you like to feel?
I definitely encourage you to give it a try. Because what if you actually get what you wish for? What if you really get a glimpse of how powerful you truly are?
I think it’s worth trying it out. Don’t you? Let’s consciously create our life. Let’s get back in the driver’s seat and get back on purpose.
Please help spread the love by sharing this post on Facebook and Twitter!
Hugs,
I’m so excited you wrote this blog post 🙂
I had a feeling you would be. 😉 XO
Thank you for writing this, Jodi.
I’ve been feeling so blah and bored lately, and so heavy in my body because I’m resisting what my heart’s crying out for me to do.
I love how this post reminds me to dance in my possibility and act from my place of power. I have so much magic in my bones, and it’s up to me how that shows up in my daily life.
Today I choose to follow the call to teach my Academy again August 1st even though I worry I won’t get enough paying women to make it viable. I’m trusting in the abundance of the universe and releasing all attachment to the outcome.
Thank you again for the warm reminder to centre into my body and my power, and to do it as often as I need to.
Fist bumps,
Otiti
I love that you mention your experience with “remembering how powerful I truly am”…We all have so much power and wisdom within us and I know we forget it sometimes. I have a big week ahead of me and I’m going to work that into my intention. “What if I remembered one powerful thing I know each time I need to remember it this week.” 🙂 Thanks for this message. It is very powerful. xo 🙂
Awesome post, Jodi… and it’s got me thinking.
I had a few moments of stress over the weekend because I hadn’t had any new signups for the Promotion for Introverts virtual retreat next weekend since I did Friday’s call.
At some point over the weekend, I made a point of relaxing and asking two questions… “What if I get a whole load of signups just before the special discounted rate disappears? Won’t I feel silly for stressing out now?” (that’s happened to me before, incidentally)
Then I also asked “What if the number of signups I have now – even though it’s not huge – is absolutely PERFECT as it is, and the small numbers mean the folks who do come have a much more relaxing, flowing, enjoyable experience?” And when I did that, I truly felt the stress melt away.
So I’m not sure if those were quite the “what if”s you were talking about in your post. But they were definitely powerful questions for me to ask 🙂
Blessings
TANJA

Jodi, there is a quote I really love, and I like to repeat it to myself in situations like the one you just described. “The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” – Rumi
I am a firm believer that every hardship, every abuse or difficult situation is a wonderful opportunity for us to grow, and most of all – to grow the light within us. I have noticed something like this always happens when we most need to turn our attention deep within, analyze ourselves, and uncover unconscious blocks, barriers, or just something that needs to be dealt with. If we weren’t faced with experiences like these, then how are we ever going to build strength, discover who we truly are, and how will we be ever going to be able to help others? These experiences are the real gems that keep us awake, keep us aware, constantly pushing us to discover our true nature, which is Pure Love.
Thank you for sharing this, Jodi, the reactions it provoked did move me at a deep level.
