As many of you know, meditation is something that I feel called to do but often resist doing. My soul constantly asks me to slow down and get still – to focus on my breath and live in the present moment. And while this sounds absolutely amazing in many ways, my mind usually wins out – explaining that I have about a million things to do and there just simply isn’t time for meditation.
But… still my soul persists. (It’s pretty determined to help me, thankfully.) And it continues to bring into my consciousness beautiful meditations to try. And each time I do, I always feel more centered, at peace, and more at one with all of life. My plan is to share some of these meditations here on Soul Speak from time to time. That way, if you’re also like me and could use this reminder to slow down and give yourself the gift of stillness, hopefully these will allow you a few moments to do exactly that!
I was recently reading The Magical Path by Marc Allen. It’s a great book that offers powerful tools to help you reach your dreams. One of the tools that caught my eye was called the Middle Pillar Meditation, which is a powerful guided meditation to help align our energy centers, heal our body, and feel the magic that is always inside of us
In this video, Marc guides us through this meditation:
And that’s the thing with meditation, right? It doesn’t have to consume our entire life. It doesn’t have to be a big deal. It can just be a moment in time where we give our full attention to whatever it is that we’re doing. It can just be a few minutes where we consciously focus on our breath and consciously allow ourselves to notice – just notice – our thoughts. It can be that we listen to a guided meditation or chant along with our favorite mantra or remain fully present along our daily walk. Whatever it is, know that it’s exactly perfect. Know that each moment that you give yourself this awareness is such a beautiful gift.
That’s why I keep coming back to meditation. Because I always feel so much better and more aware and awake afterward. I wish that for you, too.
Please share the links to your favorite guided meditations below! I’m always looking for new ones.
Happy meditating!
Hugs,

Thank you for this article–I have heard only wonderful things about this book!
The practice of meditation was something I resisted for so long…I felt I would “need to be perfect” to sit (because then my imperfections would be glaringly obvious). Of course, when I did choose to sit, my experience was not even close…I felt so connected in ways I didn’t even know existed. Then I began experiencing with form, and now there are even days I practice movement through my day as a living meditation.
Recently my favorite guided meditation is the chant om mani padme hum –there are many different versions on youtube, with different music and style.
I once heard a translation of OM MANI PADME HUM that I really like: Om… there is a jewel of bliss in the lotus of my consciousness… so be it!
I hadn’t heard that translation before, Marc. I love it! 🙂
Hi Joy!
It definitely sounds like we have had similar meditation experiences. It’s so funny that you mentioned chanting – I recently tried it out for the first time, and I really liked it! There was something really powerful about my voice vibrating with the music. I never expected to like it, but I think there’s really something to it. Hugs to you!
I typically do my meditation as I drift off to sleep at night. I love guided meditations as they give the mind something positive to focus on while the body relaxes. I tried the one in the video you shared this morning, and I really liked it. It’s short enough that it only takes a few minutes out of the day, and yet it is very relaxing and positive. It felt great, and I’m feeling ready to jump into the rest of my day. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Eric!
That’s a great idea to drift off to sleep with guided meditations. I’m so glad you enjoyed this meditation. If you ever have any that you like, I would love for you to recommend them. 🙂
Jodi – Thank you for sharing Marc Allen’s Middle Pillar meditation. I haven’t seen this one and it’s very good at visual guidance of what to imagine while breathing.
I’ve also included a link for an evening meditation for Manifesting by Dr. Wayne Dyer at:

Hi Pat,
I’m so glad you liked the meditation!
Thank you for sharing the evening meditation here. I just saved it and will listen to it before I go to sleep. 🙂
You’re welcome Jodi. I’m getting back into meditation and enjoy exploring the different types to settle in and see what works best for me.
I’ve also come back to Bill Harris’ (from The Secret) Holosync style of meditation that I had enrolled in several years ago. It’s interesting too. His site is: https://www.centerpointe.com/
I love meditation, it’s helped me alot in my everyday life.
I use a program called “Just Allow It” by GP Walsh, which is all about allowing the feelings and sensations in your body to just be there. It really helps me relax and to deal with emotions as they come up in everyday life.

Hi Ben,
I haven’t heard of this program, but it really sounds great. I’m going to look it up now. Many thanks for sharing it here! 🙂
I hadn’t heard of this book, so thank you! I am loving my creative writing meditations, they really clear the junk out of my head and inspire me.
Hi Charmaine!
I never thought about meditations specifically for writing – do you have any in particular that you would recommend? 🙂
